The Ministry of Industry and Trade will invest in the re-equipment of the Taganrog Beriev Aviation Plant, according to the press service of the Rostov Region government.
The key project will be equipping the Be-200 amphibious aircraft with a Russian PD-8 engine, the regional cabinet noted.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, noted that the department will finance research and development work (R&D) and continue support next year. If the tests are successful, mass production of modernized amphibians is scheduled to begin in 2028.
Special attention will be paid to the comprehensive re-equipment of the plant. Acting Head of the Rostov Region, Yuri Slyusar, noted that resources are provided for the purchase of technological equipment and the renewal of the machine park.
This will increase the production run of the Be-200, the only jet amphibious aircraft in the world used for extinguishing fires and eliminating emergencies.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Il-96-400 airliner was tested in the sky.
