It is known that the Bal coastal missile system division operated in a complex jamming environment created by electronic warfare (EW) equipment of a mock enemy. The complex's crews demonstrated high resistance to EW effects and successfully completed the task of detecting, acquiring, and engaging the target.

In the positional area, the missile troops deployed the complex in the shortest possible time and practiced actions to detect sea targets. After receiving a signal to use missile weapons, the combat crew of the Bal coastal missile system fired an Uran anti-ship cruise missile at a target simulating a detachment of ships of a mock enemy

The complex, armed with Kh-35 anti-ship missiles, has received an updated navigation system. The coastal missile system can fire both single missiles and salvos, launching up to 32 subsonic missiles. Its maximum firing range exceeds 120 kilometers.
