The Superjet SJ-100 aircraft has become the pride of the Russian aviation industry. In fact, this aircraft has become a newly created project, which no one else in the world has done yet, stated aviation expert Roman Gusarov.
He recalled that the first aircraft built using serial technologies took to the sky in the target configuration planned for deliveries to airlines.
Another source of pride is that the aircraft is fully import-substituted, including the domestic PD-8 engine.
We have to do everything ourselves that we can. Boeing, for example, only has screwdriver assembly; everything else is assembled from all over the world. Russia also creates its own engines, but Boeing and Airbus do not.
The aviation expert suggested that the rate of aircraft production will be the same as before - about 20 aircraft per year. And this volume will satisfy demand.
