ТУСУР разрабатывает уникальную систему проектирования СВЧ интегральных схем

The system has no analogues in Russia

Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) is actively working on creating a computer-aided design (CAD) system for microwave integrated circuits. To date, there are no similar solutions in Russia, which makes this project particularly significant. The first version of the system is scheduled for release in 2026, and it will be modernized in the future.

CAD is specialized software used by engineers, architects, and designers to edit, analyze, and optimize projects. Currently, Russia lacks its own CAD systems for microwave integrated circuits, which creates certain difficulties for domestic developers. In 2024, NPO KIS JSC, part of Rosatom Group, developed a roadmap for the development of Russian CAD systems until 2030, commissioned by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. TUSUR became one of the participants in this important project, contributing to the creation of a system for microwave integrated circuits.

Two teams, consisting of more than 80 people, including students, undergraduates, postgraduates, as well as candidates and doctors of science, are participating in the development of the system. This allows combining the efforts of various specialists and creating a high-quality product.

Anton Ivanov, a leading researcher at the research laboratory "BEMS RES" of TUSUR, noted that the development route is built in such a way as to create an import-advancing version of CAD by 2030. By the end of 2026, a basic version with the minimum possible functionality will be ready, and in subsequent years the system will be developed to a level comparable to world standards, and then surpassing them.

In addition, employees of the "BEMS RES" laboratory are simultaneously working on creating CAD for antennas and microwave devices. This will form a solid foundation for future developments and implementations within the framework of the new route established by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Thus, TUSUR not only contributes to the development of domestic science and technology, but also creates conditions for increasing the competitiveness of Russian developments in the international arena.
