A new scientific and educational cluster dedicated to nuclear and space technologies is planned to open in Zheleznogorsk. The head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov, and the general director of Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev, informed the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, about this at an exhibition on the scientific and educational infrastructure of closed cities.
The Educational Scientific and Technical Center will begin operations on September 1, immediately commencing the education of 287 students. Among the project's partner universities are the Moscow Aviation Institute, Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics, Siberian State University, and Siberian Federal University.
The project is being implemented jointly with the state corporations Roscosmos and Rosatom. The inclusion of the cluster in the scientific and technological development program of the Krasnoyarsk Territory until 2030 is planned. The participation of Reshetnev and the Mining and Chemical Combine, together with the regional Technical School of Innovative Industrial Technologies, in the Professionalitet project is also being considered.
