According to him, when there are many particles of ash in the air, they can pose a threat to the operability of aircraft systems.

In such situations, aviation authorities inform airlines about such phenomena and restrict flights in the corresponding areas of airspace.

The vast majority of aircraft engine types have not been tested for operability in the event of entering a cloud of volcanic ash, with the exception of the Russian PD-14 engine for the MC-21. This unit was the first in the world to pass the relevant tests.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec was instructed to reduce the cost of MC-21 and SJ-100: advantages over Boeing and Airbus are needed.
