The situation with the domestic aircraft fleet is currently in a critical state, but not hopeless. Aviation expert Ivan Prokhorov spoke about the state of affairs in the industry.
He recalled that in 2024, Russia built 166,166 units of civil aviation equipment, which is 13% less than in the previous year.
At the same time, Russia's fleet includes 1165 passenger aircraft, but most are Boeing and Airbus, which are gradually failing due to the lack of spare parts. Therefore, Rosaviatsiya predicts a decrease in passenger traffic to 109.7 million people in 2025. And as a result — an increase in ticket prices.
At the same time, Prokhorov believes that the situation can still be corrected. He recalled that the MC-21 became the first fully Russian project in 25 years.

The expert also called the appointment of Vadim Badeha as the head of the United Aircraft Corporation a very correct decision.
He is a technocrat, not an "effective manager", and this gives hope for a real recovery of the industry.
