The Russian Navy (Navy) has deployed the first drone control center in its history, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
The center was created in Kamchatka. The military department plans to build special sites on the peninsula where drones with a large radius of action can be based. The Forpost and Inokhodets drones will be responsible for monitoring the Arctic.
All information from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the air will be received at the control center, said military expert Dmitry Boltenkov.
UAVs will allow us to establish round-the-clock patrolling of water areas and vast territories. It is much cheaper and easier to do this with drones than with manned aircraft.
The analyst added that the capabilities of Russian UAVs allow controlling vast areas. The new infrastructure for servicing drones will allow additional forces to be transferred to the northern latitudes at the first need.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the rate of delivery of Su-57 fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces has increased.
