The new Russian light aircraft LMS-901 "Baikal" is cheaper than foreign analogues, according to the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA).
Serial production of the "Baikal" is scheduled to begin at the end of 2026. UZGA noted that the "Baikal" is a completely domestic aircraft with no foreign components.
The Baikal aircraft is cheaper than foreign analogues, has a high cruising speed and a long flight range.
The creation of the Baikal aircraft provided orders for about 200 Russian enterprises. Currently, the aircraft has been sent for re-motorization.
This procedure involves replacing previously installed imported components with domestic analogues (VK-800SM engine and AV-901 propeller).
Earlier www1.ru reported that the rate of delivery of Su-57 fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces has increased.
