The newest Aluminum Casting Center at the UEC-UMPO enterprise has opened in Ufa. The production site has become one of the largest in the corporation's structure. It will produce aluminum castings for aviation engines.
A new Aluminum Casting Center has opened in Ufa at the UEC-UMPO enterprise. This is one of the largest production sites of the corporation, where cast aluminum parts for engines will be manufactured, including the PD-14, PD-8, and VK-650V.
PD-14 is a Russian fifth-generation turbofan engine with a thrust of about 14 tons, created for civil aircraft, in particular for the MC-21. PD-8 is an engine for light and medium-range aircraft intended for light and medium-range aircraft, and the VK-650V is a turboshaft engine for light helicopters, certified in 2025.
The center uses modern low-pressure casting technology, which allows creating lightweight and durable parts with a wall thickness of up to 3.5 mm. All stages of production, from mold making to quality control, take place on an area of 26.6 thousand square meters.
With the help of new equipment, the Center will be able to produce up to 375 tons of high-precision aluminum castings per year, which will fully meet the needs of all UEC enterprises in aluminum castings.
UEC-UMPO (Ufa Engine-Building Production Association) is one of the leading Russian enterprises in the field of aviation engine construction, part of the United Engine Corporation (UEC) under Rostec. Founded in 1925, the company develops, manufactures, services, and repairs turbojet aircraft engines and gas turbine units. Its range includes both engines for military aviation and civil turbofan engines.
