Ufa-based UEC-Ufa Engine-Building Production Association (UEC-UMPO) participated in the creation of the latest domestic PD-8 aircraft engine. Specialists of the enterprise manufactured large-sized castings of the intermediate casing, the United Engine Corporation (UEC) reported.
UEC-UMPO also produced castings for bearing housings and adapters for the accessory drive housing.
UEC noted that the intermediate casing is one of the largest elements of the engine, where the already compressed air is divided into two streams – the outer and inner contours.
I am glad to be part of the corporation's thousands of employees who are working on the production of PD-8 engines. We all understand the importance of our work and the great responsibility for the quality of each part. The significance of the PD-8 for our country cannot be overestimated. I am proud that together with my colleagues we are making a significant contribution to the development of domestic aircraft engine construction.
