Orenburg "Drilling Equipment Plant" has completed the modernization of drill pipe production by introducing robotic lines. Investments in automation exceeded 200 million rubles, including 144 million rubles of preferential loan from the federal Industrial Development Fund (IDF) and 16 million rubles from the regional IDF.
New technologies have halved the processing time of parts and improved product quality. The General Director of the plant, Alexander Medvedev, noted:
Automation and robotization of production processes have reduced the labor intensity of machining operations and halved the processing time of parts, and established the production of products with improved characteristics.
After reaching the design capacity of 22 thousand pipes per year, the company plans to increase its market share from 30% to 40%, replacing imported supplies.
Drill pipes TBSU are used in the exploration of diamonds, oil, gas and other minerals. They are characterized by increased wear resistance, reduce energy consumption when drilling to a depth of 2000 meters. Key customers include Alrosa, SUEK-Kuzbass, Tatneft, as well as companies from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Previously, with the support of the IDF, the plant launched the production of unique drilling rigs with the ZBO Drill Control system for remote monitoring.
