In the fall of 2025, India will ceremoniously decommission the Soviet-designed MiG-21 supersonic front-line fighters from the Republic's Air Force (IAF), which have served for over 60 years.
The farewell ceremony for these machines will take place on September 19 at the Chandigarh airbase. The event will be attended by senior IAF leadership and veterans who have been associated with aviation for many years. Exhibitions and air shows are planned in honor of this event.
МиГ-21 is the most common supersonic aircraft in history, also the most mass-produced 2nd generation fighter, with the troop nickname "Dove of Peace."
The media reported that India may abandon the Russian fourth-generation Su-35 fighters in favor of the fifth-generation Su-57, as it will gain full control over the technology of the latter.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the "brains" of the latest Su-57 fighters became known.
