Footage from the tests of the new MC-21 aircraft has appeared online. The liner's crew performed an element that military pilots call a "combat turn". MC-21 test footage.
The Ministry of Transport stated that the flight characteristics of the MC-21 do not yet meet the planned ones. Certification tests of the aircraft will be completed in August 2026, while its cost has increased from 4.6 to 7.6 billion rubles.
The fully import-substituted MC-21 aircraft with Russian systems is scheduled to take to the skies in August. This was announced by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov, at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy.
MC-21 is a new generation medium-range aircraft. The liner was created on the basis of the latest developments, it is focused on the most demanded segment of the passenger transportation market.
