State Duma deputies are planning to finalize the bill on distribution certificates for online cinemas. This concerns amendments that oblige streaming services to obtain distribution certificates for all films and series.
It is not about burdening with distribution certificates those works that are already on audiovisual services. It is about the obligation or voluntariness of obtaining a distribution certificate for the premiere screenings of what will appear.
According to the deputy, the new requirements will help avoid the lengthy process of оформление документов for existing content. According to him, about 90% of streaming content on "Kinopoisk" would have had to be removed in accordance with the original version of the bill.
