Роуминг в четырёх странах запустил T2 через VoLTE

Calling via 4G without using data is available in Singapore, Vietnam, China, and Australia

The Russian telecommunications operator T2, formerly known as Tele2, has announced the launch of VoLTE roaming in China, Vietnam, Australia, and Singapore. Subscribers can make voice calls over the 4G network without using their data plan. The service is charged at standard roaming rates.

In 2025, T2 signed agreements with leading operators, including China Mobile and China Unicom in China, as well as Vietnamese Viettel. In addition, contracts were concluded with Australian Telstra and Singaporean operators Starhub and Singtel at the end of 2024. All technical settings and testing have been successfully completed, allowing subscribers to take advantage of new features.

VoLTE roaming is also available for Russian tourists in the USA, where T2 cooperates with the operator AT&T. The technology was implemented several years ago, when the process of closing 2G and 3G frequencies began in the country. In the USA, Australia and Singapore, T2 uses a special proxy converter that allows VoLTE calls to reach subscribers in 2G/3G format.

As a reminder, in December 2024, T2 announced the introduction of VoLTE technology in all regions of its presence in Russia, which significantly improved the quality of communication for users.
