The Progress MS-29 cargo ship will undock from the Poisk module on the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS). This will occur on July 1 at 21:39 Moscow time.
After undocking, the ship will enter autonomous flight and, at 00:46 on July 2, will activate its engines to decelerate in order to deorbit. According to Roscosmos, most of Progress MS-29 will burn up in the atmosphere, and the non-combustible elements will fall into a non-navigable area of the southern Pacific Ocean.
The Progress MS-29 ship arrived at the ISS on November 23, 2024, delivering approximately 2.5 tons of various cargo, including 869 kilograms of fuel, 420 liters of water, and 43 kilograms of nitrogen. The ship also carried equipment and materials for scientific experiments, including the Vampire project for growing crystals, research on the neutron spectrum using BTN-Neutron-2, and work with polymers in the framework of 3D printing.
The Progress MS-29 will be replaced by the new Progress MS-31 cargo ship. The Soyuz-2.1a rocket with this cargo ship will be installed on the launch pad of the Baikonur Cosmodrome on the morning of July 1. The launch is scheduled for July 3, and docking with the ISS is expected on July 6.
