Turbine Installed at Unit 1 of Rooppur NPP

Turbine shaft rotated at low speed during testing

Workers have completed the installation of the turbine at Unit 1 of the Rooppur NPP. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation Rosatom.

This is an important technological stage, which resulted in the installation of the turbine unit on the turning gear. During the tests, the turbine shaft began to rotate at low speed.

The turning gear ensures alignment and balancing of the turbine rotor before start-up and shutdown. It helps prevent wear of turbine parts and ensures safe operation.

Atomstroyexport stated that the turbine installation is an important step towards the physical start-up of the NPP. The installation of the turbine unit and control checks confirmed the reliability of the equipment.

The Rooppur NPP is being built according to the Rosatom project. In December 2024, the first stage of the operation to bring the first unit reactor to its nominal parameters began.
