For the flight from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to Zhukovsky, the 97003 prototype aircraft performed a 9-hour flight with an intermediate landing in Novosibirsk.
The certification test program for the import-substituted Superjet 100 (SJ-100) jet has been completed by half, and its flight part by 30–40%, said Kirill Kuznetsov, chief designer of the aircraft, to the press service of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
On June 20, after the flight of the third prototype aircraft with serial number 97003 from the assembly plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur to the LII named after M.M. Gromov in Zhukovsky near Moscow.
The third prototype aircraft with serial number 97003 has joined the two other prototypes — partially import-substituted 97001 and 95157 — and will soon join the certification flight tests.
According to Kuznetsov, since 97003 is a completely import-substituted aircraft, the main task during the tests in Zhukovsky is to demonstrate the operation of all new Russian systems, including the PD-8 engines, both in the air and on the ground.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the full cycle of production of PD-8 and PD-14 blades will ensure the independence of aircraft engine building in Russia.
