Prices Starting at 1 Million Rubles: Top 5 Cheapest Domestic Crossovers and SUVs

Chinese crossovers and SUVs hold leading positions in the Russian car market. Nevertheless, domestic cars are still in high demand. For example, Niva returned to the top three in the segment in May.

LADA Niva Legend continues to lead the ranking. This classic three-door SUV returned to the top three best-selling cars in Russia in May. The base version costs from 1,059,000 rubles.

Under the hood of the LADA Niva Legend is a 1.7-liter gasoline engine with a power of 83 horsepower. It works in conjunction with a five-speed manual gearbox and permanent all-wheel drive. The standard equipment includes front power windows, ISOFIX mounts for child seats, 16-inch steel wheels, and audio preparation.

For 1,314,000 rubles, you can buy a newLADA Niva Travel SUV in the standard configuration. The model is preparing for an update.

LADA Niva Travel is equipped with a 1.7-liter engine with a power of 80 horsepower. It works with a five-speed manual gearbox and permanent all-wheel drive. The basic version includes heated and electrically adjustable side mirrors, rear LED lights, 15-inch steel wheels, and an audio system.

Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant offers two affordable SUVs. One of them is theUAZ "Hunter", which has retained its classic design from Soviet times. In the near future, this model will have new versions. The price for the basic version of 2024 with a 112-horsepower engine that meets the Euro-2 environmental standard starts from 1,510,000 rubles.

However, the "Hunter" cannot boast rich equipment. The basic configuration includes only a headlight range control and a cigarette lighter. This model has a part-time four-wheel drive.

In May, UAZ raised prices for all 2025 models. The flagship"Patriot" also became more expensive. However, 2024 cars with a "Euro-2" engine are still available at a price of 1,680,000 rubles. This makes the "Patriot" one of the most affordable new SUVs on the Russian market.

Completing the list is the"Moskvich 3". Like other cars, such as "UAZs", it became more expensive in 2025. But Russians still have a chance to buy a "Moskvich 3" of the 2024 model year at the same prices. They start from 1,700,000 rubles.

The "Moskvich 3", created on the basis of the Chinese JAC crossover, is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine. In the basic configuration, it comes with a six-speed manual gearbox. This car stands out for its rich equipment among other models. It has air conditioning, a multi-steering wheel, multimedia, climate control, a rear-view camera with parking sensors, and a sunroof. Heated front seats are also provided.
