700 светофоров и 96 тысяч дорожных знаков установят в России в 2025 году

As part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life", sidewalks and lighting will also be updated

In 2025, large-scale works are planned in the Russian regions to update the road infrastructure as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life". The Ministry of Transport of Russia announced its intention to install more than 700 traffic lights and about 96 thousand road signs, which will significantly improve road safety.

In addition, as part of the project, more than 485 thousand meters of sidewalks and 14.5 thousand meters of pedestrian paths will be built. It is planned to lay 219 thousand meters of lighting lines, which will improve visibility on the roads in the dark.

Special attention will be paid to routes leading to educational institutions, such as kindergartens, schools and universities, as well as to medical institutions and tourist facilities. The works will ensure safe access to important social and cultural facilities, which is especially important for families with children.

The Ministry of Transport emphasizes that the implementation of these measures will not only increase the level of safety on the roads, but also improve the quality of life of citizens, contributing to the development of infrastructure in the regions.

But not everyone agrees with the Ministry of Transport. Auto journalist Maxim Kadakov believes that the planned improvements will not reduce mortality on the country's roads.

In Yekaterinburg alone, there are more than 700 traffic light objects (intersections), on which a total of about 8,000 traffic lights are installed. It is clear that not all of them require repair or replacement, but the scale itself suggests that this is extremely small for the whole country, so we will not reduce mortality on the roads.
