«Задача со многими неизвестными»: 6 трлн рублей направят в высокотехнологичные проекты Дальнего Востока и Арктики

Major investments in infrastructure, energy, and logistics are planned until 2030

The Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic, Alexey Chekunkov, stated that by 2030, 6 trillion rubles will be invested in new projects in these regions. Over the past ten years, thanks to special economic support measures, investments of 5.5 trillion rubles have already been implemented in the region, which has allowed the creation of 177,000 jobs and the launch of 1157 enterprises.

Key areas include the modernization of the Northern Sea Route (NSR), which should increase cargo traffic from 38 million tons to 70–109 million tons by 2030. This will be possible thanks to projects such as Vostok Oil, Arctic LNG 2, and the Baimskoye deposit. In addition, the completion of the third stage of modernization of the Eastern Polygon of Russian Railways is expected, which will increase its capacity to 270 million tons by 2032.

After the gradual abolition of the Far Eastern allowance, which has been in effect since 2017 and allowed consumers to save 300 billion rubles, the government faces the task of curbing tariff growth and providing the region with new generating capacities.

This is a problem with many unknowns. By 2030, according to our estimates, the energy deficit will be more than 3 gigawatts.

To solve this problem, the construction of nuclear power units is being considered, which is necessary for the sustainable development of the region.
