Representatives of the Russian and Belarusian military-industrial complex (MIC) have begun working on the possibility of jointly producing the latest Su-75 Checkmate fighters. This was announced by the chairman of the Belarusian State Military-Industrial Committee (SMIEC), Dmitry Pantus.
Together with the United Aircraft Corporation and Rosoboronexport, a project is also being developed to create a joint Su-75 Checkmate aircraft.
The fifth-generation Checkmate light multi-role fighter (Sukhoi Su-75/T-75) was first shown at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2021 in Zhukovsky near Moscow on July 20, 2021.
The director of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant named after Yuri Gagarin, Yuri Kondratyev, in early 2025 spoke about preparations for the production of Su-75 aircraft. The company should produce two samples for static and flight tests.
The Checkmate's speed will be from 1.8 to 2.0 Mach, the flight range is up to 3000 km, the maximum combat load is 7400 kg, the practical ceiling is 16.5 km, and the maximum operational overload is 8 units.
It should be noted that if Belarus' participation in the production of the aircraft implies the acquisition of the Su-75 for the Belarusian military, this will give Russian aircraft manufacturers the first launch customer for the new machine.
