The modernized anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) "Buk-MB-2K" with a new missile will be presented at the MILEX-2025 exhibition in Minsk. This was reported by the State Military-Industrial Committee of the republic.
The new 9M318 missile allows intercepting ballistic and cruise missiles, aircraft, as well as helicopters in hovering mode. In addition, the missile can engage surface and ground radio-contrast targets.
The focus is on the Buk-MB-2K air defense system with the first domestic 9M318 guided anti-aircraft missile - a new generation weapon for reliable protection against modern threats. The use of the newly developed 9M318 guided anti-aircraft missile allows increasing the engagement area of the Buk-MB2 air defense system to 70 km.
The 9M318 missile received an active homing head, which increases the probability of hitting low-visibility targets and allows freeing up the target channel of the complex.
