FSO in focus: Military court in Moscow begins hearing case on embezzlement of funds in government contract for software

The amount of damage is estimated at 43.7 million rubles

In Moscow, a military court has begun hearing a case on the embezzlement of funds from the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSO). This concerns a government contract for the development and installation of software for the FSO Special Communications Service.

The defendants in the case are Pavel Nashchekin, former general director of FSUE FSO STC "Sistema", his deputy Alexander Popov, director's advisor Anatoly Rusanov, chief accountant Yuri Mironov, and leading specialist Vladimir Verkhovodov.

The investigation claims that the cost of the contract was artificially inflated, and the developed program turned out to be inoperable. The damage was estimated at 43.7 million rubles.

According to the investigation, the accused formed an organized criminal group with a clear distribution of roles and used conspiratorial methods of communication. The criminal actions pose an increased public danger and undermine the authority of the FSO. The investigation also points out that the accused encroached on the foundations of state power and violated the normal management activities of both the FSO Special Communications Service and the STC "Sistema" itself.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the court granted a claim for 180 million rubles against the manufacturer of Sineva and Sarmat ballistic missiles.
