Belarus 112I-01: Moscow presents the first mini-tractor with autopilot and remote control system

Modernization from Kazan University turns a mini-tractor into a smart machine for agriculture

At the international exhibition "Agrosalon-2022" in Moscow, an updated model of the Belarus 112I-01 mini-tractor, equipped with an autonomous and remote driving system, was presented. The technology was developed by specialists from Kazan Federal University in collaboration with TPK MTZ-Tatarstan.

Engineers from the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Systems Engineering of KFU modernized a serial tractor, turning it into an intelligent machine that does not require the constant presence of a driver. The university has developed retrofit kits that allow the equipment to be converted for autopilot control.

As a result of deep processing, specialists replaced the steering mechanisms, accelerator and brake, and updated the навесного equipment control system. Each tractor received an individual control panel operating through several wireless channels, which ensures stable communication with the operator. The architecture of the entire electronic system, including control modules and interfaces, was designed and assembled independently by KFU specialists, placing it in reliable protective cases.

Of particular importance in the project is the software developed for simultaneous control of several tractors by one operator. This solution increases productivity and reduces personnel costs, which is especially important for agricultural enterprises. If necessary, the machine can be switched to manual mode, which ensures versatility and safety of operation.

The project demonstrates the technological level of Russian developers in the field of mechatronics, agricultural robotics and digital control. It confirms the possibility of adapting traditional equipment to the requirements of modern agro-industrial enterprises, offering an effective and reliable alternative to foreign systems.

Belarus 112I-01 is equipped with an electric motor with a power of 13.2 kW (18 hp), which allows it to work up to 8 hours in автономном mode without refueling. The maximum speed of the machine is 15 km/h. Compact dimensions — a length of about 2.7 m and a width of less than 1.2 m — make it convenient for use in confined spaces, such as greenhouses, orchards and nurseries.
