The Roselectronics holding (part of Rostec) has developed "Nabat" sensors to protect fuel and energy facilities (FEC) from fires, the state corporation's press service reported.
The flame detectors can operate in particularly difficult conditions. The new generation product will detect a fire in less than 6 seconds at a distance of up to 50 m.
The novelty is designed to work on oil wells, drilling platforms, gas pipelines, and chemical plants. Previously, such equipment was supplied to Russia from abroad.
"Nabat" detects even the burning of substances that do not emit carbon dioxide, including hydrogen, ammonia, hydrazines, and sulfur. The supersensor can be integrated with an automatic fire extinguishing system so that the emergency signal is sent to the operator's console with the coordinates of the fire location.
The detectors are produced in an explosion-proof housing. Thanks to the built-in heating system, "Nabat" operates at extremely low temperatures down to -60 °С.
