On Wednesday, April 23, the first flight of the fully import-substituted SJ-100 aircraft (board 97023) took place in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The aircraft is powered by PD-8 engines and has 38 Russian-made systems installed.
The airliner is the second prototype with domestic engines and the first where imported components have been completely replaced.
The General Director of UAC, Vadim Badeha, called the event significant for the country's civil aviation.
The program was implemented in record time – one and a half to two times faster than global counterparts. More than 60 enterprises participated in the cooperation. The results of ground tests confirmed the ability of domestic systems to work together and ensure aircraft control in flight.
The flight lasted 40 minutes and took place at an altitude of up to 3000 meters at a speed of 500 km/h. The crew checked the operation of control, air conditioning, hydraulic and flight navigation systems.
By the end of 2025, it is planned to perform about 200 flights, including tests in extreme high and low temperatures.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the import-substituted Superjet SJ-100 with PD-8 will perform more than 130 certification flights.
