Aerospace company "Bureau 1440" (part of "IKS Holding") has begun developing WiFi terminals for Sukhoi Superjet (SJ-100), MC-21, and Tu-214 aircraft. This was announced by Alexey Shelobkov, General Director of "IKS Holding."
The terminals will provide connection to satellite internet throughout the flight.
Shelobkov noted that the company received requirements for transceiver terminals from the manufacturer of these three aircraft.
A representative of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) confirmed that the company is in contact with "Bureau 1440".
We have sent our requirements for the equipment to be installed on board, in order to be able to offer interested airlines the functionality of internet access on board the aircraft.
