Polishing and "burnishing" aircraft engine blades are among the most labor-intensive and critical activities in the production of power plants. The United Engine Corporation (UEC) showed the work of specialists from the Naro-Fominsk Machine-Building Plant in a video.
Engineers meticulously refine the size and shape of the aircraft engine compressor blades to perfection. In the finishing process, the blade becomes absolutely smooth - "glossy".
This work largely determines their quality and, as a result, the reliability of the entire aircraft engine.
UEC enterprises train new specialists in blade polishing. Mentors pass on their experience and knowledge to newcomers, sharing their secrets and transferring all their professional skills.
Earlier, Rostec reported that the MC-21 airliner was given the task of competing with Boeing and Airbus.
