The peak of disturbances in the Earth's magnetic field has passed, according to a specialist from the Phobos weather center, meteorologist Mikhail Leus.
According to him, the geomagnetic field will finally return to a calm state on Saturday night. However, the peak of disturbances is likely behind us. Most of the time, the geomagnetic field will be in a slightly disturbed state.
The cause of the magnetic storm, once again, was the Earth entering a stream of fast, dense, and high-temperature solar wind emanating from a large coronal hole on the Sun.
Leus added that the probability of magnetic storms forming on March 27 is estimated at 50%, and on Friday, at 36%.
Earlier it was reported that on Wednesday, a disturbance of the Earth's magnetic field was recorded, which reached a moderate level of G2, which can cause problems in energy systems. Disruptions in radio navigation and high-frequency radio communications are also likely.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that nine powerful flares were recorded on the Sun, the most powerful of which lasted more than an hour.
