Engineers at the United Engine Corporation (UEC) are actively using virtual testing technology, creating digital twins of aircraft engines. In particular, a digital analogue of the AI-222-25 engine was developed at the Salut Moscow enterprise, and a digital model of the TV7-117ST-01 at the UEC-Klimov in St. Petersburg.
The creation of a digital twin of the TV7-117ST-01 became possible thanks to the cooperation of UEC with the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, which is one of the leaders in the development of digital modeling technologies in Russia. This approach allows not only to recreate the engine design in detail in the virtual space, but also to carry out complex calculations, analyzing the effectiveness of new engineering solutions.
One of the key advantages of the technology is the possibility of conducting multivariate virtual tests, significantly reducing the time for assessing the reliability of each structural element. Thanks to digital twins, engineers can predict the behavior of the engine in various operating modes, identify potential vulnerabilities and quickly make adjustments. This not only increases the efficiency of design, but also reduces the cost of creating and testing physical prototypes, speeding up the development of modern aircraft power plants.
