Magnetic storm hits Earth again: will it affect weather-sensitive people?

The intensity of magnetic field disturbances reaches an average level of intensity

On Earth, on Friday evening, March 21, the beginning of a magnetic storm was recorded, the power of which reaches from weak to medium intensity. This was announced by the leading specialist of the Phobos weather center, meteorologist Mikhail Leus.

Around 18:00 Moscow time, the geomagnetic field became slightly disturbed, and since 21:00 Moscow time, magnetic storms with an intensity from weak to medium, class G1-G2, have been observed.

According to the weather forecaster, the reason for the storm was the Earth's entry into a stream of fast and dense solar wind, which is 150–200 km/s above normal. The source of the wind was a large coronal hole on the southeastern side of the Sun.

There are currently only three such holes on the star, which are in the process of destruction, but retain the ability to influence the Earth. Leus clarified that the end of the magnetic storm is expected by noon on Saturday, March 22.
