Новые подробности о российском внедорожнике Sollers: 200 лошадиных сил, полный привод и технологии Toyota

Joint Development by Sollers and JAC Based on T9: Sales Launch in 2026 and Investments of 4 Billion Rubles

A representative of the Russian company Sollers shared details about the company's new frame SUV, created in partnership with the Chinese brand JAC. The model, built on the JAC T9 pickup platform, inherited engineering solutions from Toyota — a frame and front suspension unified with the Land Cruiser, as well as elements of the Toyota Hilux design.

Production of the ST9 will start in Ulyanovsk in 2026. Investments in the project will exceed 4 billion rubles.

We have finalized the appearance of the car, both its exterior and interior. Our specialists have developed a unique interior for the car, which takes into account the wishes and needs of the Russian customer. Based on mathematical models of the car, a number of virtual checks have been carried out, confirming the technology and the possibility of producing this car.
Mikhail Guryanov, Director of the PDTО Development Center at Sollers

The car will be equipped with a 2-liter engine with a capacity of 200 hp, an eight-speed "automatic" transmission, and all-wheel drive. The seven-seat interior uses solutions already approved during studies of the preferences of Russian drivers. To adapt to local conditions, the engine has been modified for Russian fuel, and the suspension has been reinforced for difficult road conditions. The production cycle in Ulyanovsk includes full assembly — from welding to painting.

The new SUV will enter the segment where the UAZ Patriot and Haval Dargo compete. Unlike the Patriot, the new model offers a modern automatic transmission and a spacious interior. However, price may be a key factor: the Haval Dargo starts at 3 million rubles, while the cost of the ST9 has not yet been announced.
