AGR Automotive Group (AGR LLC) is launching a new brand, Tenet, under which it will present two new Chery models: the compact Tiggo 4 crossover and the powerful mid-size Tiggo 8 Pro Max. The first car will be called Tenet 3XT, and the second — Tenet 31T.
Last week, AGR announced the launch of a new car brand — Tenet. The first model will be an updated Chery Tiggo 7 Plus.
The second model of the Tenet brand will be a crossover with the code name 3XT. This is a passenger car with an engine capacity of no more than 1500 cubic centimeters. The vehicle that will form the basis of the Tenet 3XT was indicated by the vehicle type approval (OTTS) for the Chery Tiggo 4, which the former Volkswagen plant received in August last year. The approval indicated the factory number of this car in China – T3X.
It is highly likely that an analogue of the Chery Tiggo 4, which recently appeared on the Russian market, will be produced at the Kaluga plant of the AGR group of companies. The dimensions of this crossover are 4320x1831x1662 mm, and the wheelbase reaches 2610 mm. The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of 147 hp, which works in tandem with a 6-speed robotic gearbox.
Current prices for the Chery Tiggo 4 range from 2,380,000 to 2,680,000 rubles, excluding discounts.
The next car of the Tenet brand will be an SUV with the internal number 31T. According to the EAEU declaration, it will be available with two power plant options.
The first version will be equipped with an engine with a working volume of no more than 1800 cubic centimeters. The second version will have an engine with a volume of up to 2300 cubic centimeters. Apparently, the basis for this model will be the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max, known under the code name T31.
The dimensions of the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max crossover, presented on the Russian market, are 4720 x 1860 x 1705 mm, and the wheelbase reaches 2710 mm. The car's interior is designed for seven seats, with a 2+3+2 layout.
The car is offered in two versions: with front and all-wheel drive. The basic version is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 186 hp in combination with a 7-speed "robot". The all-wheel drive Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max is equipped with a 2-liter engine with a capacity of 197 hp and an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The price range for the crossover is from 3,370,000 to 4,070,000 rubles.
According to Sergey Tsyganov, auto expert and host of the Telegram channel "Russian Automobile", Russian dealers who sell Chery cars are re-signing contracts for Tenet cars.
Now there is almost official confirmation: this is what Chery dealers say, who are massively re-signing dealer contracts for the new joint brand Tenet.
All Tenet cars will be produced at the former Volkswagen plant in Kaluga. This plant came under the control of AGR Holding in mid-2023.
The Governor of the Kaluga Region, Vladislav Shapsha, meeting with President Vladimir Putin, said that in 2025 it is planned to produce 110 thousand cars at this plant.
Previously, AGR officially announced its plans to create cars under the new Tenet brand.
