VR simulators for medics created in Russia

Samara State Medical University has developed fully domestic devices for doctors to practice important skills

Specialists from Samara State Medical University (SamSMU) have created fully domestic VR simulators. The devices will help in training future doctors.

The line includes 13 simulators, including 4 new items: "Registration and interpretation of an electrocardiogram", "Emergency medical care for a child aged 1-8 years", "Emergency medical care" and "Assessment of auditory function".

VR simulators will allow medical workers to practice important skills: diagnosis and provision of emergency care for various conditions, such as anaphylactic shock or asthma attacks. Thanks to the simulators, doctors effectively practice their skills in a virtual environment.

Experts from SamSMU participated in the project. The simulators were tested at the clinical departments of the university. The creators are confident that the use of simulators will significantly improve the training of medical professionals in Russia.
