Rare BREM-80 Based on T-80U Tank Upgraded: Combat Vehicle Receives New Capabilities

BREM-80 Equipped with Anti-Drone Protection and Multi-Band Electronic Warfare System

Russian engineers have modernized a rare example of military equipment - the BREM-80 ("Product 647") based on the T-80U tank. The updated combat vehicle was presented at a training ground in the Moscow region.

The vehicle has acquired anti-drone protection, side screens with dynamic protection based on 4S24 "Relikt" elements, and a multi-band electronic warfare system.

The vehicle is also equipped with a GTD-1250 gas turbine engine from PJSC "KADVI", which makes it much more operational than the BREM-1.
Evgeny Damantsev, military expert

Deputy Head of the Main Armored Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Sergei Shaleny, noted that the BREM-80 was developed toensure the safety of evacuation groups. The vehicle has sufficient traction and is capable of evacuating from the battlefield in the shortest possible time.
