Certification flights of the domestic MC-21 passenger aircraft with the domestic PD-14 engine will begin in the coming months. This was announced by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov.
You all saw the PD-14 recently at the exhibition the other day. The engine is certified. And in the coming months, we expect the start of certification flights of the MC-21 with this engine as part of the certification flights.
The basic PD-14 turbofan engine is being created in cooperation with enterprises of the United Engine Corporation (UEC) using the latest technologies and materials, including composite ones, Alikhanov noted.
The engine can provide a flight range of up to 5100 km, but in the future it may grow to 7000 km. Its specific fuel consumption in cruise mode (kg/kgf • h).
