Plant growth stimulants from paper waste created in Yekaterinburg

New substances accelerate plant growth by 14-38%

At the Ural Federal University (UrFU), they have come up with a way to stimulate the growth of agricultural plants using waste from pulp and paper production. This was reported in the press service of the university.

Nanoparticles for stimulating plant growth, which have a porous structure and are easily absorbed by the soil, were obtained from lignosulfonates (safe waste from paper production). They can also be used to remove toxic substances from wastewater and as sorbents.

Scientists conducted studies on the effect of stimulants on radish and soft wheat crops. The results showed that the growth rate of plants increased by 14-38%, which confirms the effectiveness of the new approach.

Earlier www1.ru reported that in Russia created a complex for creating digital twins of plants.
