Rosatom sends reactor vessel to India for the sixth power unit of the Kudankulam NPP

Rosatom has sent a VVER-1000 vessel to India for the sixth power unit of the Kudankulam NPP, the state corporation's press service reported.

The equipment weighs 300 tons. It was manufactured at the Atommash plant.

It was delivered by special road transport to the factory pier, where it was loaded onto a river vessel and brought to the seaport of Novorossiysk. Then, in the port, the reactor vessel was moved into the hold of a sea vessel, and it has a journey of 11,000 km to India.

The construction of four new power units according to the Russian project continues at the Kudankulam NPP in India. The station's design, construction, and equipment supply are carried out by divisions of the Engineering Division of Rosatom State Corporation.

The set of four steam generators for the sixth unit of the Kudankulam NPP is scheduled for shipment in 2025.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Rosatom overcame difficulties with equipment for the Akkuyu NPP after a "setup" from Siemens.
