Robotics Centers to Appear in Russia by 2030

Russian authorities will allocate over 15 billion rubles for the development of more than 30 robotics centers by 2030

By 2030, it is planned to create more than 30 robotics development centers in Russia. More than 15 billion rubles will be allocated for this purpose. The centers are necessary to stimulate research and development (R&D), reverse engineering, and personnel training.

At least three such centers will be created in each federal district, based on industrial organizations and universities. Innopolis University will be responsible for creating the centers, and the first of them will launch there in 2024.

The creation of the centers is carried out within the framework of the national project "Development of Industrial Robotics and Production Automation," for which it is planned to allocate about 350 billion rubles from the state budget until 2030. Innopolis University adds that the budget for 2025–2027 provides for the financing of technical and technological audits of industrial enterprises, but the details of financing have not yet been determined.

Evgeny Dudorov, head of the Consortium of Robotics and Intelligent Control Systems, emphasizes that reverse engineering centers will be engaged in creating standard solutions that can be scaled across different enterprises.

However, Konstantin Tolstoy, director of development centers at Robopro, points out the difficulties with the supply of components for the production of robots, which forces manufacturers to spend time on their own developments.
