Bulgarian Military назвало технологии потерпевшего крушение Су-37, которые внедрили в Су-30 и Су-35

Technical failure of the onboard computer led to the crash

The Russian experimental super-maneuverable fourth-generation fighter with forward horizontal tailplanes, the Su-37, crashed in 2002. This happened during a test flight near Zhukovsky. Due to the crash, the project was closed, but its developments were used in the Su-30 and Su-35 fighters, writes Bulgarian Military.

The Su-37, equipped with revolutionary engines with thrust vectoring and advanced avionics, performed complex maneuvers at high altitudes. But suddenly everything went wrong. Onboard computers began to feed incorrect data into the flight control system.

The end of the Su-37 story became the beginning for the Su-30 and Su-35. For example, the fighters received an engine with a thrust vector. Thanks to this, Russian aircraft can perform dizzying stunts in the air.

AL-31FP engines, originally developed for the Su-37, were later installed in the Su-30. And the Su-35 received more powerful AL-41F1S, providing even greater thrust.

The "Bars" radar, tested on the Su-37, was integrated into the Su-30. Its next version, the "Irbis-E," allows the Su-35 pilot to track multiple targets simultaneously.

The Su-37 was one of the first Russian fighters to receive multifunctional displays and modernized weapons control. The Su-35 received advanced digital interfaces, which improved the pilot's situational awareness.
