Poland is not going to transfer its fourth-generation MiG-29 fighters to other countries. The Soviet-made aircraft have been repeatedly modernized, and "too much has been invested" in them, writes Bulgarian Military.
The MiG-29 is a crucial component of the country's air defense. The Polish Air Force operates various models of MiG-29 aircraft, which have been in service since the late 1980s.
According to Bulgarian Military, Poland has MiG-29A and MiG-29UB, MiG-29M and MiG-29M2 fighter models.
The MiG-29A is a standard version equipped with the Zhuk-ME radar system. The radar tracks targets at medium and long ranges.
The MiG-29 has also received advanced avionics. The fighters carry air-to-air missiles, including the R-73 and R-27.
