The Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighter will accelerate even faster thanks to the AL-51F1 engine. This was pointed out by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.

The acceleration time from 600 to 1100 km/h may be reduced to 8.5-10 s, while the rate of climb will increase to 365 - 380 m/s.

The analyst explained that the infrared signature of the Su-57 will be reduced in combat and rear hemispheres thanks to the adjustable nozzle. Also, the promising AL-51F1 engines with a total thrust of up to 36,000 kgf in normal afterburner mode will provide the aircraft with a thrust-to-weight ratio of 1.01 kgf/kg even at maximum take-off weight and an impressive 1.36 kgf/kg at normal take-off weight with 63% fuel in the fuel system.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Su-57 was equipped for the first time with a latest AL-51F1 turbofan afterburning engine. It provides the combat vehicle with an increase in flight performance due to an increase in afterburner thrust to 18,000 kgf and thrust in emergency mode to 19-19.5 tf.
