The Russian fifth-generation multirole fighter Su-57 was created taking into account the modernization perspective for 50 years, it received elements of the sixth generation of fighters. This was announced by the General Director of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) Vadim Badekha.
When creating this platform, we must think about at least a 50-year perspective of its development. Therefore, initially, the designers laid down the possibility of development and change in accordance with the requirements of the customer, the requirements of the time. We are already introducing elements of the sixth generation into this aircraft.
Su-57 is a fifth-generation multirole fighter. It is designed to destroy all types of air, surface and ground targets. The machine has internal fuselage armament, supersonic cruising speed, radio-absorbing coating (stealth technology), as well as the latest complex of onboard equipment.
The intellectualization of the Su-57 systems allows it to take over some of the functions of the pilot, including piloting and preparing for the use of weapons.
