The Ruselectronics holding (part of Rostec) will create a new supercomputer for the Joint Institute for High Temperatures of the Russian Academy of Sciences (JIHT RAS). The new product will find its place in experimental design, research and technological works, and the technical characteristics of the supercomputer are currently being determined.
When creating the hardware and software complex, the experience of developing and producing previous generations of supercomputers – Angara-K1, Desmos and Fisher, including immersion cooling technology, will be used.
The created computing cluster will differ from its predecessors in the maximum possible use of domestic component base and higher peak performance.
The basis of the computer will be the Angara communication network developed in Ruselectronics. This is the first Russian interconnect for creating high-performance supercomputers based on many distributed computing machines.
