Разработка геостационарного спутника связи «Ямал-502» выйдет на финишную прямую к 2030 году

The platform for new generation satellites will ensure accelerated development and cost optimization

The creation of the Yamal-502 geostationary communication satellite, based on the new Gazprom SPKA development platform, may be completed by the spring of 2030. This was announced by a company representative in an interview with TASS. According to him, the company is ready to start work, and the satellite is scheduled to be sent to the cosmodrome on time.

The creation of a promising satellite platform designed for heavy and medium geostationary vehicles was previously discussed on November 12 by Andrey Yakovlev, chief designer and head of the design bureau of Gazprom SPKA. He noted that the platform is being developed as part of the Yamal-502 project, which helps to optimize costs and use resources efficiently.

The company representative clarified that the preliminary design stage has already been completed, and the next step will be the preliminary design. This integrated solution will significantly speed up the development and preparation of the satellite for launch.
