The Orthodox messenger "Zosima", which is planned to be presented in the spring of 2025, will implement a moderation system aimed at preventing the use of profanity. This was announced by Alexey Agapov, president of the "Innotech XXI" Foundation, which is engaged in the restoration of temples. The final version of the application provides for blocking users for using profanity, as well as for posting immoral content, extremist materials and calls for violence.
"Zosima", developed within the framework of the "Save and Protect" project, will be an analogue of popular messengers, such as WhatsApp, but with a special feature - an orientation towards the Orthodox audience. It will be possible to create pages of temples, collect donations, exchange messages, as well as use chats, photos, videos and conduct online broadcasts. The application will be available for download on mobile platforms in the spring of 2025.
Unlike Western messengers, in which problems with content moderation often arise, the authors of "Zosima" decided to provide strict filtering of information to ensure security, especially for the youth audience. "It is important that children and young people do not encounter harmful content," Agapov noted.
The first trial version of the application is scheduled to launch in late November - early December this year.
