Software for Improving Drone Safety Created in Saratov

The development reduces the error of the onboard computing system to almost 1%

A new software (SW) for improving drone control systems has been developed at the Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov (SSTU). This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

The development is expected to find application among manufacturers of helicopter-type quadcopters.

Experimental testing has proven that the presence of such an algorithmic tool in the UAS (onboard computing system) of a multirotor type reduces the system error to almost 1% and increases the overall safety of the vessel itself in various operational situations.

The uniqueness of the new software lies in the use of linear algorithmization and various combinations of filters. This gives an advantage in the efficiency and speed of the software.

The system is installed on aviation vehicles and automatically gives commands to change or maintain the functional state of the device. The software also makes it possible to identify errors in the system.
