Crews of multirole Russian transitional generation (4++) Su-35S fighters escorted multirole Su-34NVO fighter-bombers while performing tasks to deliver high-precision strikes with FAB-500M-62 air bombs in a planning modification with UMPC.
In addition to R-77-1 and R-37M air-to-air missiles of long and very long range, respectively, the aircraft were also equipped with Kh-31PD anti-radar missiles.
The integral ramjet engines of the latter are capable of suppressing the potential of AWACS radars or multifunctional SAM guidance radars of the enemy, including 36D6, 79K6 "Pelican", as well as TRML-4D and AN/MPQ-64F1.
